About Us
The Family and Community Center is open during regular school hours and after hours offering services to families and the community.
The Family and Community Center serves as a critical hub for community resources, providing a home for numerous partner agencies that offer services ranging from a robust selection of parent education courses addressing academics, health and well-being, ESL, and access to medical, social, and counseling services. Our strategy is to strengthen our families and utilize them as resources that support student learning and further the development of not only our school, but also that of the community as a whole.
Community Garden
Vaughn Family and Community Center’s edible school garden was made possible in partnership with Northeast Valley Health Corporation (NEVHC) Champions for Change and Mr. Steven List. The garden features seven raised planters with seedlings for herbs, as well as various trees. Throughout the year, parents and community members can visit the Community Garden and enjoy many fun and educational activities including a produce swap, seedling giveaways, garden transplanting workshops, interactive health and wellness activities.
La Casita
La Casita houses our Uniform Exchange program and is the home of various health related services and classes that take place on a weekly basis throughout the school year.
